Penta Umbrella

Penta is a strong and lightweight umbrella, the geometry of the umbrella up structure is due to compensate the natural position of the body under the umbrella, that is a off-centre position and we often get our back wet. This new geometry covers better our back and avoids us to get wet. Penta has a extra in his handle a bag holder, for users that only can use one hand and must carry something else. Strong and easy for repair because of the individual components and the removal joining for all the parts.

An object designed to protect us from the rain can as well help us to gather water for our plants on sunny days. All the materials used are 100% recycling, and make the most of waste o renewal resources like corn.

1º Functions: To add more than one function to a product, increases its useful life, the energy output inverted in the construction and in the materials that is made of.

2º Endurance: the more is the endurance of the umbrella/ recycler, more endurance we will obtain from the components materials and from the energy used for the construction.

A strong structure made of aluminium, assembled with a fabric made of ingeo fibre (polylactide (PLA)); with this two materials we´ve got a strong resistance plus lightweight.

3º Materials: the use of materials its not only 100% recycable but making the most of leftovers, and plastics made of corn (PLA), prevents from the over-exploitation from natural resources.

Polyactide (PLA) and polyactide fibre (ingeo fibre)

I have not used pigments in the materials because we wanted it to be as natural as possible not using chemical agents. So the recycling circle willl be easier.

4º Spare: All the joinings ar made by screws, that makes all parts of the umbrella easy and individual replaceble so that the user could repair easily the umbrella; having a cradle-to-cradle principles.

5º Water recycling: During a rain day a lot of water is wasted, if you use the penta ,with a empty standard water bottle, you are giving a second use to penta, recycling a plastic bottle and you are gathering water to water your plants in a sunny day.
