Ikka

Ikka is an exaggeration of a gesture that we make to hide ourselves from rain. We put our hand (sometimes with newspaper or book) above our head and try to protect ourselves from falling water.
I wanted my umbrella to be as simple as possible and to be very cheap and easy to produce.
It is made from round piece of plastic foil which is welded on the edge. In the middle, there is another piece of foil welded, in the shape of human palm.
User puts his hand in it, squeeze the round piece a bit and that way his palm becomes a construction for umbrella. After using user can fold it and put it into a pocket.
Ikka is very light so we can always take it while going out.
It is very easy to recycle it due to the simplicity of construction. We don't have to separate the parts. One part is our body, our hand and the rest is just a little piece of plastic foil. We just take it off like gloves. Ikka can be recycled the same way as plastic bags.
