The swerve is ergonomically designed for emergency and short distance used umbrella with its multifunctional features such as an umbrella and portable storage. The design is aim for designers, students or office workers travel in short distance. It is environmentally, user friendly and easy to use, just simply unclip and form into flat plan that roll able and stored in the storage room or place behind cupboard.

The swerve is inspired by natural living object, the seashell. Its complicated curve inside the shell yet harmony and balance create a beautiful form of shape.

The swerve is designed through my experimentation of cut and fold inspired by Enlai Hooi ( www.enlaihooi.com) and its complicated curve shape yet simple and harmony is inspired by Charles Eames.

In order to create a sustainable design, I try to communicate and collaborates the design with the material. The key is to minimize the material and keep the design as simple as possible. And of course the material is being used is high durability for long term used and totally recyclable.

Material used is polypropylene. It is a recyclable plastic, simply melted it and mix with 50% of virgin plastic. It is processed through some simple and environmentally safe. It is also a durable material, high flexibility and has good bending memory that will not easy to break ( www.kingston.ca.uk, www.knovel.com, www.wikipedia.org).

The swerve featured with light and user friendly design, aesthetically interesting unique shape being formed to form the shape and it comes in variety colors option.

The design is focused on sustainability and concerned with the quality of the design such as high durability and aesthetically interesting. It is a carefully thought idea and design for a positive impact to environment and environment safety usage, for example lighting. Also, for human health impact throughout its potential for being truly recyclable and belief will help to support and create more sustainable world.
